The Bookmark is finished!

So, I made the bookmark last night. I used a thin piece of cardboard and then attatched paper to that. I chose to use the Twilight Flower Fairies stickers so I picked a coordinating paper from Creative Imaginations. I think it turned out really well. I found a metal “L” that I adhered to the bookmark also, and that really looked sharp. I also made two gift tags for presents that were made like Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s) and they turned out great. I can’t believe how easy they were to make.

Christmas Bookmark

I have decided to make a bookmark for my friend Leslie for Christmas. She reads all the time so I think that she’ll really like this gift. I got the idea in a scrapbooking magazine that I was browsing through. I am going to use some of Cicely M. Barkers Flower Fairy designs for the project. I haven’t decided which Flower Fairies I am going to use yet but, it will either be the Amber Glow or Twilight series. I love her work! Colorbok has a line of layered sentiments featuring Cicely’s Flower Fairies that we carry in our scrapbooking web store argainbay.com. They are beautiful and I can hardly wait to start this project! I’ll definetly post pictures on the website when I finish the bookmark.

One week to go…..

Well, it is exactly one week until Christmas and I’m not ready! Is that surprise? Not really. Usually Cliff and I are still working on Chrsitmas presents on Christmas Eve and a few times during the wee hours of Christmas morning. Of course, those were the years when Cliff made the reindeer and Santa and Mrs. Claus yard decorations and the sleigh. Wow, those were huge projects.

So, I guess that it is no surprise that I’m so far behind. I haven’t wrapped one gift and I just put the tree up last night, with Cliff’s help and finished decorating the house. I still don’t put up all of my decorations because of Sam but, I think that next year Sam will be old enough that I won’t have to worry about it.

Sam and I went to do some last minute shopping yesterday and we had a good time. On our way home I remembered I wanted to check Sams Club again to see if the price on the tricycle had gone down any more so, I turned the jeep around and headed back to Sams Club. It’s a good thing that we did go and check because there were only four trikes left. Guess what? I bought it. I have been watching the price on it for over a month now and I decided that it was now or never. I think Sam is really going to like it…..he tried to ride it in the store while one of the employees was unhooking the wagon (so that I could fit it in the jeep). When we got home and Sam realized that I wasn’t going to let him bring it in the house—he had a major tantrum. I am really tired of those and am really hoping that it doesn’t last the whole 2nd year!!! Especially since he hasn’t even turned two yet. Anyway, back to the trike, I can hardly wait to see his face on Christmas morning when he gets up and sees it by the tree. Those pictures will make for great scrapbook pages.

This morning Cliff took Sam to the store to shop for me. I wonder what Sam picked out???? Probably some kind of ball! Ha ha. Anyway, it was great to have the house to myself for a couple of hours and Cliff said that he and Sam had a good time. They even stopped at Wendy’s to get some lunch. Apparently Sam got to be a big boy and carry the napkins to the table. He’s so cute.

Well, I guess that I should take advantage of Sam’s napping and get busy doing something.

Big Day

Sam and I are going to Greeley this morning to see two of my college roomates and their kids before the holidays get too much crazier. It is always fun to see them, our friendships are so strong that it doesn’t seem like it’s been ten years since I graduated! We always seem to just pick back up where we left off. I am so grateful for that. Sam is the youngest of all the kids, but Suzi’s youngest is only about 5 months older than Sam so they play pretty well together and Suzi’s daughter (the only girl in the group–poor thing) always takes really good care of Sam. Payten is sooooo sweet and beautiful too.

Tonight Dena and I are going to the new Metrolux theater in Loveland. It’s a girls night out–yippee! We still haven’t decided what we’re going to see, it just depends what time Cliff gets home from work. Whatever we see doesn’t really matter, I’m sure we’ll just have a great time getting out of the house :)

Frustration??? Procrastination??

I am feeling so darn frustrated today! I have all this work to do and every time I get started and focused I get interrupted by something. I took Sam to playgroup this morning hoping that he would take a good nap and I’d be able to submit some insurance claims for Clint but, Sam didn’t take a very long nap and when he got up he was in the worst mood! I had to put him back in his bed which of course just pissed him off even more. So, needless to say, my whole afternoon was shot and no billing happened. Then I had to cook dinner, clean up the dishes and then give Sam a bath and read his bedtime story and put him to bed. Now I’m exhausted and don’t feel like working on the insurance billing! So, I took a little break and watched Blind Date Fear Factor. It was pretty good but, there was this really annoying guy who kept singing everything (instead of talking) we kept hoping that they would lose so we wouldn’t have to listen to him sing anymore.

That was my excitement for today. Tomorrow, I have to be at Clyde’s house to work on more Cortiva Institute - Colorado stuff. Guess I’d better quit procrastinating and get busy on the insurance billing!

Ellis Ranch

I took Sam up to Ellis Ranch in Loveland, CO yesterday because they have a holiday festival set up for kids. It was soooooo much fun. We got to ride on a tractor and hunt for candy in a huge pile of hay. I tried to get Sam to sit on Santa’s lap, but he wouldn’t have any of that. I was pretty bummed because I was hoping to get some good pictures for scrapping and I wanted one that I could send out with my Christmas cards. Oh well, I still got some cute pictures of Sam. He fed the goats and checked out the live reindeer and we roasted a marshmallow which he wouldn’t eat! He tried to ride a tricycle with the other kids but, his legs were too short to reach the pedals so he just held on while I pushed him around the track. I think his favorite thing of all was “driving” the golf cart, which of course wasn’t even part of the festival! Leave it to Sam to pick the thing he isn’t supposed to be doing……

I guess because of all the excitement Sam decided he didn’ t need a nap–wrong! So, we went across the street to play with the other Sam for awhile. Then I decided to take Sam to Longmont, CO to see the local parade of lights. It was a really good parade and I think Sam had fun. He only lasted about 45 minutes, so we left a little early. It was ok, because he got to see most of the parade and really liked all the lights. He waved and clapped and seemed to really enjoy himself. It was pretty chilly too, so I didn’t mind that we left early.

So, I guess my next task is to download the pictures from Ellis Ranch and start deciding how I want to scrap them. I’m so excited!

Crazy Days

Sam and I ran some errands this morning and I picked up a couple of Christmas gifts for him and Cliff. I started doing some part-time work for my old employer this week and picked up some insurance billing stuff from a Massage Therapist friend so, I have been pretty busy this week. Eric came over today to help me get my fax machine set up and that took the better part of the afternoon, but I am sooooo grateful that Eric was willing and able to get it working for me. I haven’t had time to scrapbook for almost a week and that totally sucks. I am working on another paper bag album and so far it is turning out pretty cute. I have been using some color coordinated blue papers. I haven’t done much embellishing yet, that will come later after I get all the pictures mounted. I am hoping to get caught up this weekend on my new part-time work so that I can do some scrapping next week.

Paper bag album

I misplaced my blog for almost 2 weeks—Yikes! Well, this week is crazy since we are leaving for vacation on Saturday. I am sooooo nervous to fly with Sam. I am praying that he will be good and sleep on the plane! I really hope he doesn’t scream and have tantrums the whole time. I have been working on the “Dancin’ with Ellen” paper bag album and am about ½ way done. I think it looks great so far! I am really happy with it. I think Wanda is supposed to come over tonight so that I can take her over to the warehouse and she can buy scrapbooking supplies for the craft classes she is offering through the moms club. I am so excited for her to see how many products we are carrying! We also have quite a few manufacturer’s including Making Memories , EK Success , K&Company , Creative Impressions , Creative Imaginations , Eyelets Etc., Paper Loft , SEI , Timeless Touches , Paper Bliss etc.

More teeth?

Sam got up early this morning and it was pretty chilly outside so he didn’t really want to play in the back yard this morning. So, by about 11:00 I decided to take him over to mom’s house for a little bit. I don’t think Sam is feeling too great because he threw up and had diahhrea twice today. I really think he is getting his 2 year molars. I did a lot of “boring” text work for the website today. Hopefully, tomorrow I can work on scrapping a new page.

Yada, yada, yada

We went to playgroup at Rebecca’s today. Kathy wasn’t there because her dad is still in town, I’m bummed because I really wanted to know how Maggie liked her paper bag barn book that I made her. Oh well, I guess I’ll find out next week.
