Zucchini bread

Sam was up pretty early this morning so I made a zucchini bread for playgroup this morning. It took me an hour just to grate the zucchini, I’m not sure that it was worth all the work. Playgroup was good, everyone showed up. Sam must have had a great time because he took a 3 ½ hour nap—yippee! Cliff came home early to work on the patio room again. I was going to paint the front door and window, but didn’t get to it, so I’ll try again tomorrow. I’m still typing up the materials list for the scrapbook pages, should be done with that soon.

Big fall

Dad came over today to install the ceiling fan out on the patio. I worked on bringing all the plants inside for the winter and getting the house and yard ready for playgroup tomorrow. Sam took a good digger off the back step today, I think he might get a black eye. He was drinking from his sippy cup and walked off the step without even looking. I feel bad for the poor little guy.

Patio room?

Sam and I “helped” Cliff work on the patio today. We all seemed to be feeling better, thank goodness! It sucks being stuck with 2 sick guys-if you know what I mean!!!! Cliff did awesome, he got all the soffit up and is ready to start framing the half walls. The patio room is really coming along. Didn’t really get any argainbay work done today, except I did finish my supplies list that I’ve used for all the pages I’ve scrapbooked so far. Now, I just need to type it up for Eric to put on the web.

The yucks…

Sam is still not feeling 100%, I am feeling a bit nausceus and Cliff said he feels like he is getting sick too. So needless to say, we pretty much took the day off. We went to Ft. Collins so that Cliff could get his ski pass renewed. That was about the most excitement for today, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Lunch date

Today I met Karen at Chili’s in Longmont (I left Sam at mom’s). I brought a bunch of the pages mom and I have been scrapbooking lately and I also took a bunch of our Disney products for her to look at. We had a really good long lunch, with no interruptions (from the little man) and she ended up buying quite a bit of ourDisney products. She picked some really cute Disney papers and stickers to use when she scraps her family trip to Disney World that they took this past May. I can’t wait to see her pages. I showed mom the rocking horse page that I finished last night and she really liked it. It’s definetly one of my favorites!

Help-we’re stuck!

Today Sam and I were supposed to go to Dena’s house in Loveland, but our power went out, so I couldn’t get out of the garage. So, Dena came down here again—I feel really bad that she is having to load both the boys up again especially when we were supposed to be going to her house. Oh well, the boys had fun and so did Dena and I. I decided to use the SEI Grandpa’s Attic papers for the rocking horse pictures. The page turned out great and was actually pretty easy to put together.

Hangin’ around

Today Sam and I just hung around the house. He is still sick, but seemed to be in a better mood. We ran to the post office and the bank this morning and then when we got home we put out our Fall decorations. The weather has been nice and cool for the last two days—very Fall-like. I printed some pictures of Sam on his rocking horse and I’m going to scrap them next. I need to find the right paper….I am thinking about the Grandma’s Kitchen line by SEI . The main colors are blue and brown. Or, maybe I’ll use the Grandpa’s Attic line also by SEI . Hmmmmm, keep you posted on that.

Sick kids

Sam woke up with a runny nose this morning—he sounds yucky. I called Beth and asked her if she wanted us to skip playgroup today and she said that Madison and Kylee were both sick too. Kathy and Dena didn’t make it so it was a small playgroup today, but still nice. I really enjoy these girls. Sam was kind of cranky and snuggly which is very unusual for him—just another sign that he isn’t feeling too great today. After playgroup, we went to Wal-mart. It took us an hour and a half but I don’t think we’ll have to go again for 2-3 weeks. Thank goodness—I hate grocery shopping!!!

In the groove

Dena called this morning, I asked her if she wanted to come down with the boys and we’d visit while they played. We had a good time and Sam and Bain played until noon with no fussing! Usually one or both of them has a meltdown around 11-11:30. I tried to feed Bain lunch here but he wasn’t interested. Dena thinks he ate too many fruit snacks—ooops. After they left, I put Sam down for his nap and then I worked out and then worked on painting the pop-out for the kitchen window. We are painting the exterior of the house – that isn’t brick—the same color as the gutters. It’s called clay and looks great next to the brick and the new roof. I hate painting, but I’ll be doing it again tomorrow and the next day, etc. until it gets done. Cliff might help me tomorrow when he gets home from work.

Gutter Guy

Well, Jason came down again today to put the new gutters on for us. We are so appreciative to have such great friends. Cliff smoked another brisket today for Jason as a thank you. Susan was working again – this is Scottish Festival weekend—so she is really busy. The guys watched the Bronco game before starting on the gutters and of course, the Broncos lost. The gutters look great! I am glad to have that done too. Now the big project is to get the exterior of the house painted. Yuck.
