Grandma’s Sewing Machine
Sam and I went to Dena’s this morning so that Sam and Bain could play and we could visit. Bain was pretty tired, so Dena put him down for a nap and Sam just played by himself with Bain’s toys. On the way home, I stopped at the Creative Art Center in Loveland because they are having a huge going out of business sale, but they were closed. The next time the store is open for the sale is August 26-28, next weekend, so I’m going to try to go then and pick up some super cheap art supplies that Sam can use at home for craft projects.
As we were driving around the business complex looking for the Creative Art Center, I passed a sewing machine repair shop and decided to stop in and see if they had a bobbin case for my grandmother’s sewing machine. I want to be able to use it to sew papers together for scrapbook pages. Well, Steve (the owner) did have a bobbin case that would fit, so I bought it. I was so psyched! Now, figuring out how to work the sewing machine is a whole different story. When we got home we went straight to the backyard to check out the concrete that Cliff and the boys (Chipper, Eddie and Kevin) were pouring. They were almost done and it looked great until Sam decided to walk across it to see his daddy. He got about six steps in before he realized that he was sinking and stopped and looked around for help. We took pictures of his adventure so I could scrapbook it some day. It just took Cliff a matter of minutes to fix the area where Sam had stepped. As it started to set up, Cliff and I put Sam’s feet in the concrete for imprints and took pictures of these too.
