Today is the last day of August!!! I can hardly believe it! Well, Rebecca called last night to say that she had to take Kylee to the emergency room because she wouldn’t stop crying and apparently she actually broke her arm! No wonder she didn’t want to play with anyone and just wanted to be held. Poor baby. So, Sam and I went to the store and made her a little get well care package and dropped it off at her house this morning. She seemed to be doing fine. AND……Rebecca told me that she is pregnant! I’m so excited for her and can hardly wait to meet her new little addition. Hopefully, we’ll be next.
Playgroup was at Sally’s today. Rebecca said Kylee fell off the couch this morning and hurt her wrist, so she didn’t want to play much. Kathy and Maggie didn’t make it from Greeley, but everyone else was there. Sam seemed to have a good time even though he had to have time out two times for throwing things at the other kids. This is something that is going to take a lot of work.
Sam and I ran errands today. We went to the Larimer County Clerk’s office to get new vehicle tags for Cliff’s van and the black trailer. I didn’t realize it, but the van tags expired in June—whoops! After that we stopped at Shop-Ko because their going out of business sale is up to 50% off. I ended up spending too much money. Next, and final stop is Wal-mart for groceries.
I took Sam to the park in Loveland this morning. Rebecca and Beth were there with their girls. I think that Sam had a good time. After the park, Sam and I went to Dena’s. I held the baby and Sam played with Bain. On our way home from Loveland, we stopped at the Creative Art Center and bought some cool craft stuff that I’m going to save for this winter. I got some really great deals! Sam ate his lunch in the car and we went straight to my moms house where we put Sam down for a nap and we went downstairs to work in the warehouse. We got done what we could before we ran out of peg board. It looks a lot better down there now.
My mom came over at 10:00 this morning and we went to the Habitat store in Loveland. Mom scored! She got tons of stuff for Sam including this huge outside Little Tikes playgym…..it’s awesome and Sam loves it. After we got done at the Habitat store, we drove to Ft. Collins and had lunch at the Macaroni Grill and then went to the Treasure Box, a scrapbooking store. I was able to get some blank chipboard material and a blank board book, I really want to make Sam his own personal board book. I also got some walnut ink to experiment with. I can’t wait to try my new “goodies.”
We met mom at the Berthoud Habitat store at 10:00 this morning. I got a really cool kids desk and a cookie monster chair for Sam this morning! I also got him some small cookie cutters that I think will be great for him to use with his play dough and some sidewalk chalk, which he seems to like eating rather than writing on the cement. When will he outgrow this phase of putting EVERYTHING in his mouth? When we got home, we cleaned his new toys on the back porch with the hose and then we came in and Sam had leftover spaghetti for lunch—what a mess he was! He slept for about 2 hours—not as long as some days but he woke up in a great mood and was a lot of fun to play with. Cliff is working late today and tomorrow and Friday to make up for not working last Friday, so he won’t be home until about 5:30 or so. I’m making pork chops for dinner with pasta and green beans. I hate pork chops! Well, I haven’t had time to scrap much the past few days—I have been working on the items that were assigned to me at our last business meeting. I have completed most of my to-do items and just need to summarize and get them ready for presenting on Saturday night at our next meeting.
Playgroup was at Dena’s today. Sam had a good time with all the kiddos. When we got home, Sam had his lunch and then went down for a nap. He didn’t sleep as long as I was hoping!! And, of course woke up cranky. Mom and dad showed up at about 3:30 and we decided to go to the Berthoud Habitat store to see if they had any cool toys for Sam. When we got to the store we realized that it wasn’t open on Tuesdays so we made plans to go back the next morning. Well, Sam’s mood improved a little bit and by the time we got home, it was about time to fix dinner and then start getting Sam ready for bed. Cliff is working at the shop again and then will be installing bookshelves at Rebecca’s across the street. Hopefully, he won’t have to work too late tonight.
Today was Sam’s 18 month check-up with Dr. Fan. He is 25.6 pounds and 31 inches tall. Dr. Fan said he looks great and seems to be right on schedule. We stopped at moms to drop off some stuff and show her the scrapbook page I finished last night. Sam was pretty cranky because he was tired and hungry so, I took him home and fed him lunch and then put him down for a nap. Tomorrow is playgroup at Dena’s. I’m excited, because I’ll get to hold the baby again!
This morning we went to Cliff’s folks’ place for breakfast, it was nice to see them and the food was good. When we got home, my neighbor’s grandson, Sam Burns, came over and played with us in the backyard. The boys are about the same age, so they had a really good time playing while Tammy and I visited. Cliff worked again today, mostly at the shop milling up material for a bookshelf that he is building for one of our other neighbors.
Sam and I walked this morning and stopped at a garage sale in our neighborhood. I met the lady having the sale and found out that she is a rep for the company Stampin’ Up and that she loves to scrapbook. I told her about our website and that if she was interested in ordering anything that we would waive the shipping charge and I’d make a personal delivery. I also told her that I’d talk to the moms in my playgroup and see if they’d be interested in coming to a Stampin’ Up show/party. I told her about some of our ideas to host on-line live crops and she thought that sounded cool. I think I’ll try to find a place here in town where we could do a monthly crop session and anyone in town interested could come.
